This study of the Gottfried-Duttweiler-Institute together with Peter Gloor undertakes the attempt to identify the globally most important tought leaders nowadays. In doing so both the number of citations (Wikisphere) as well as the value and contribution in regards to the social networking (Blogosphere-Interconnection) were analyzed. 

Even if each kind of ranking has its limitations in regards to input and process (e.g. difference between "thinker" and "doer" or different selection criteria for Asia), still this list offers an interesting kaleidoscope of the wordwide thought leaders respective influencers and their central ideas.
